 Indy Lights 2016 champion Ed Jones has vacated his IndyCar seat at Dale Coyne Racing to join Chip Ganassi Racing, where he will team with four-time champ Scott Dixon. More at Racer.  

 American Expedition Vehicles, which upfits Jeep Wranglers and Ram pickups for off-road use, has opened a new 140,000 square-feet plant in Wixom, Michigan. More at The Detroit News.

+   Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. has been named to drive the number 43 Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports in NASCAR Monster Cup in 2018, though a sponsor has yet to be named. More at ESPN. 

  Hyundai Motor’s third-quarter quarterly profit fell 20 percent, damaged by South Korea’s diplomatic dispute with China and slowing sales at affiliate Kia. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Famed Indy car owner and builder Rolla Vollstedt, who fielded cars for Len Sutton, Jim Clark, Janet Guthrie, and many others, has passed away at 99. More at the Indianapolis Star.
