+   Alphabet’s Waymo self-driving car division has filed suit against Uber Technologies and its autonomous trucking subsidiary Otto, alleging theft of its proprietary sensor technology. More at Reuters.

+   Bill Ford, executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company, has announced he will retire as chair of the Detroit Economic Club, to be replaced by DTE Energy CEO Gerry Anderson. More at The Detroit News. 

+   At Daytona International Speedway, Chevrolet introduced the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE, which uses key components from previous ZL1 and Z/28 models and will be available this summer. More at Autoblog.  

+   Kurt Busch swept past Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson on the final lap to win the crash-filled Daytona 500, scoring a victory for Stewart-Haas Racing in the team’s Ford racing debut. More at Racer. 

+   Japan’s Takata Corp. may reverse its policy and move to set up a compensation fund to pay damages in cases of injury or death caused by the company’s faulty airbags. More at CNBC. 

+   BMW may build a Mini EV in Germany instead of the UK in response to plans by Britain to leave the European Union’s single market, the German daily Handelsblatt reported. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Reversing an earlier announcement, Mercedes-Benz may build and market its new X-Class midsize premium pickup in the United States, sources say. More at Motor Trend.

+   Volkswagen AG has moved to cap the compensation plans for its chairman, CEO, and other top executives in response to the company’s . diesel emissions cheating scandal. More at USA Today. 

+   Featured attractions at the Bonhams Amelia Island sale will include a 1911 Pierce-Arrow, a 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Europa, and the 1954 Arnolt Bristol Bertone prototype. More at Sports Car Digest. 

+   Second-generation sports car driver Ricky Taylor, 27, completed a successful IndyCar test at Homestead-Miami Speedway driving a Dallara-Chevrolet for Penske Racing. More at Motorsport.com.
