Video: Watch The Snake & Mongoose Movie trailer

The frendship-slash-rivlary between Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen is one of the great stories of drag racing. On September 6th, their story hits the theaters as a feature motion picture. Here’s the trailer.

The Snake & Mongoose Movie shares the real-life tale of two racers whose fierce battles on the track belied the lifelong friendship that grew out of that rivalry. Or was that the other way around? With brothers it can be hard to tell.

Many feel that the ’60s and ’70s, the era when Prudhomme and McEwen were barnstorming the country as the Snake and Mongoose, represents a golden age of drag racing. The Snake & Mongoose Movie is intended to capture the essence of that special time.

With his new film, executive producer Elliott Broidy invites drag racing fans to explore the unique partnership of two competitors who broke new ground in both motorsports and marketing. Judging from the trailer, the movie looks like heartwarming good fun. We’re told that news, contests, and other cool stuff will be offered at the links below.

  1. I love drag racing, and I especially loved the racing of that era. But that movie looks truly awful.

  2. Yes, I think everyone is prepared to manage their expectations for a movie like this. I’m hoping it’s fun.
