Turn up the sound, take in the beauty. This rare film short shows the legendary Ford GT at speed in its original 1964 configuration.
When Ford originally produced this little four-minute film back in 1964, no one knew the Ford GT program was about to make history: four consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of LeMans in 1966 through 1969, multiple race wins over Ferrari at Sebring and Daytona, four consecutive FIA world sports car championships.
At this moment the Ford GT was in its earliest stages of development, with anachronistic wire wheels and sleek bodywork that was as visually stunning as it was aerodynamically unsound. The cars entered only a handful of events in this first season: Nürburgring, LeMans, Reims, and Nassau, failing to finish any of them. No matter. The Ford GTs were still beautiful to see and to hear, foreshadowing the success to follow. Video below.

Sounded like a rod knocking in the beginning. Cool video. Thx
Coolest car ever. Thanks for the video.
I fully agree with Kos. I remember sitting in one in the dealer’s showroom when I was eleven years old. It was a life changing experience.
