+   Magna International is considering a new assembly plant after securing a deal to build 5 Series sedans for BMW, taking the capacity of its flagship factory in Graz, Austria. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   CEO Mark Fields dismissed Donald Trump’s claim that Ford will fire all of its employees in the U.S. upon shifting small car production to Mexico, vowing to remain in the U.S. “forever.” More at the Detroit Free Press.  

+   The state of Michigan has upheld a decision to deny a dealership license to Tesla Motors, backed by a 2014 state law that bars direct-to-consumer auto sales. More at MLive.

+   Ford will finance the addition of a fourth floor to the robotics lab at the University of Michigan and base 100 engineers there for autonomous vehicle research. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Toyota will invest $150 million in its Tijuana, Mexico plant to increase production of Tacoma pickups by more than 60,000 units per year by 2018. More at Reuters. 

+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will recall 1.4 million SUVs and passenger cars to correct an airbag wiring defect that could be responsible for three deaths. More at USA Today. 

+   Car and Driver magazine reports that the mid-engine 2019 C8 Corvette will be available with one transmission, a Tremec TR-9007 dual-clutch unit. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Bob Gordon, the father of race car driver Robby Gordon and his wife, Sharon Gordon, were found dead in their Orange County, California home, with police suspecting a murder/suicide. More at USA Today. 

+   The Bonhams Goodwood Revival Auction 2016 generated total sales of $19.2 million in 175 lots and a 70 percent sell-through rate. More at Sports Car Digest.

+  The final Mitsubishi Evolution produced sold at auction on eBay for $76,400, with the total proceeds donated to two local Southern California food banks. More at Autoblog.
