 Daimler AG will cut 1,100 management positions worldwide, or about 10 percent of its leadership, as part of sweeping cost reductions planned by new CEO Ola Kallenius. More at Automotive News Europe. 

 Volkswagen is teasing a stylized rendering of the ID. Space Vizzion Concept, a fully electric crossover that will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. More at The Drive. 

+   According to Porsche boss Dr. Oliver Blume, the next-generation 718 Cayman and Boxster could be powered by an electric or hybrid powertrain with up to 400 horsepower. More at Autoblog.

+  In Phoenix, the final four for the NASCAR Monster Cup finale in Florida next week were decided: Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, and Kevin Harvick. More at Bleacher Report.

+   Steve Hill, the current vice president of U.S. sales, service, and marketing at General Motors, has been chosen to also head the Chevrolet brand. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   In a study by 24/7 Wall St. to identify the vehicles that stay on the road the longest in America, the Toyota Sequioa, Chevrolet Suburban, and Ford Expedition came out on top. More at USA Today. 

 While union members across the USA vote on the deal, Ford and the United Auto Workers corrected an error in the proposed 2019 labor contract omitting a pay raise. More at The Detroit News.

+   Famed engine builder Louis “Sonny” Meyer Jr., the son of three-time Indy 500 winner Louis Meyer and a member of the Speedway Hall of Fame, has passed away at 89. More at Motorsport.com.
