+   Korean automaker Kia is reportedly developing a traditional body-on-frame pickup truck for the Australian market, but sources say it could be coming to the United States, too. More at The Drive.  

 Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) has recommended that Toyota shareholders vote to support a resolution urging the automaker to improve disclosure of its climate change lobbying. More at Reuters. 

 The Transportation Research Institute at the University of Michigan will receive a  $9.85 million grant from the Deptartment  of Transportation to study connected vehicle technology. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Two-time IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden capitalized on three red flags in the final  laps to win the Indianapolis 500, his first and the 19th for team owner Roger Penske. More at NBC Sports. 

+   Shares of both Ford and Tesla rose more than 7.5 percent after the carmakers announced that Ford EV owners will have access to the Tesla Supercharger network. More at The Business Post. 

+   Consignments at the 2023 Barrett-Jackon Las Vegas auction on June 22-24 will include a number of restomods and muscle cars, including a 1970 ‘Cuda 340 in Moulin Rouge. More at ClassicCars.com Journal. 

 Volkswagen and its Audi division have agreed to an $85 million settlement in principle over violations of Texas environmental laws stemming from the dieselgate scandal. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   EV maker Rivian is teasing a covered clay model of its R2, a smaller and less expensive version of the R1T pickup and R1S SUV to be sold alongside the current models. More at Motor Authority. 

 The first Bentley to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923, a Bentley 3 Litre that became known as Chassis 141, has been sold to a collector in Great Britain for $3.7 million. More at Old Cars. 

+   Josh Berry and Stewart-Haas Racing are working toward finalizing a contract that would see Berry drive full time for the team in the NASCAR Cup Series beginning in 2024. More at Jayski.
