+   France’s PSA Group, maker of Peugeot and Citroen automobiles, has secured a deal to acquire the Opel division of General Motors for $2.3 billion, creating Europe’s second-largest automaker. More at Reuters. 

+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has been hit with a second discrimination class action lawsuit,  this one alleging it mistreats older employees in performance evaluations. More at USA Today. 

+   Mercedes is recalling around one million vehicles worldwide to correct a current limiter in the starter motor that could overheat and potentially start a fire. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   Ford Chip Ganassi Racing will enter three Ford GTs in the classic 12 Hours of Sebring on March 18 with an all-star roster of drivers led by Scott Dixon and Sebastien Bourdais. More at Racer. 

+   The Infiniti Q60 Black concept to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show will be equipped with a Formula 1-style KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System). More at Autoblog.

+   A subsidiary of Switzerland-based OC Oerlikon has started construction on a new $50 million manufacturing and research facility in Plymouth Township just west of Detroit. More at Crain’s Business News. 

+   Ford is planning to cut over 1,100 jobs at its Bridgend engine plant in South Wales, United Kingdom, over the next five years due to reduced production volume. More at Automotive Business Review.

+   In advance of the Geneva Motor Show, Mercedes is teasing a rendering of a four-door Mercedes AMG GT Concept to be formally introduced later in the week. More at Motor Trend. 

+   A new exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles through February of 2018 features America’s two great motorcycle manufacturers, Harley-Davidson and Indian. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   Bruton Smith’s Speedway Motorsports Inc. has secured a second Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race date for Las Vegas Motor Speedway, sources say. More at Motorsport.com.
