 German Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer has threatened to fine Daimler $4.4 billion for its role in the diesel emissions scandal, Spiegel magazine reported on Friday. More at Reuters. 

 Mercedes racing boss Toto Wolff says that Formula 1’s current revenue stream based on sanctioning fees is not sustainable and the series will seek income elsewhere. More at Motorsport.com. 

+   Legal documents filed in recent weeks indicate that Ford Motor Company has consummated a deal to purchase the historic Michigan Central Station in Detroit. More at the Detroit Free Press. 2

  1. If you don’t crash once in a while, you’re not trying hard enough. Too bad it had to be on the pace lap at the Detroit Grand Prix.

    • The exposure that @Chevrolet and its Corvette brand got yesterday due to ZR1 pace car crash was more than 70 times’ worth the exposure it got during @DetroitGP’s race No. 1 Saturday, per Apex Marketing Group (@ApexMGAnalytics).
