+   Ford Motor Company.led the North American auto industry in product recalls for 2022 with 67 recalls, followed by the Volkswagen Group with 45 and FCA/Stellantis with 38. More at Autoblog. 

+   The U.S. Treasury Department announced that electric vehicles leased by consumers can qualify for up to $7,500 in commercial clean vehicle tax credits starting January 1. More at Reuters. 

+   After a year plagued by low inventories, 2022 is expected to end with automakers selling around 14 million new vehicles, the lowest total in a decade, according to Kelley Blue Book. More at The Detroit News.

+   Andretti Autosport and Wayne Taylor Racing have announced a long-term partnership to race Acuras in the IMSA SportsCar Championship’s GTP and GTD classes. More at Motorsport.com.  

 The Consumer Electrionics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 5-8 will feature a number of new vehicle introductions, including the Sony/Honda Mobility and a Ram EV pickup concept. More at Car and Driver.

+   A rare 1964 Ferrari 250 LM that was held back as a NART reserve car and never raced in competition will be offered at auction by Artcurial Motorcars at Paris Retromobile. More at Sports Car Digest.

+   Another automotive country club in Southeast Michigan, Motorsports Gateway Howell, is now under construction with a 2.2-mile road course, private garages, and clubhouse. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 Hyundai in the United Kingdom is officially changing the pronunciation of its name from the anglicized  “Hy-un-dai” to “Hyun-day” to align with the rest of the automotive world. More at Car. 

+   Ron Devine, the owner of the defunct NASCAR Cup team BK Racing, has been ordered to pay $31 million to the trustee handling the team’s bankruptcy proceedings. More at CBS Sports. 

+   A 1969 Corvette Stingray ZL1, one of two built with an all-aluminum big-block V8, is expected to bring up to $3 million at the RM Sotheby’s Arizona sale on January 26. More at The Drive.
