+   Mary Barra, a 33-year veteran of the company, is the new CEO at General Motors, replacing Dan Akerson. More at USA Today. 

+   Ford will add 5,000 jobs in North America and introduce 16 new vehicles in 2014, the greatest number one year in the company’s history. More at The Detroit News. 

+   David L. Strickland is stepping down as head of the National Traffic and Safety Administration, a post he has held since 2010. More at the Chicago Tribune. 

+   Volkswagen USA  chief Jonathan Browning has left the company, replaced from within by Michael Horn, head of global after sales. More at Reuters.

+   GM will sell its 7 percent stake in PSA Peugeot Citroen (nearly 25 million shares) at a loss of around $39 million. More at The Washington Post.

+   Sergio Perez of Mexico will drive for Force India Formula 1 team in 2014, alongside the returning Nico Hulkenberg. More at Sky Sports.

+   GM’s Holden subsidiary in Australia will cease production by end of 2017, resulting in the loss of 3000 jobs. More at BBC News.
