Holiday Ride: The 2021 Chevrolet Christmas Film

Have a box of tissues ready as you watch this year’s Chevrolet Christmas film.

Nearly two million people have already viewed this short film since it was released last week, but it’s too good not to keep sharing. But we should warn you right now to have the box of tissues ready as you watch, because it’s a for-real tear jerker.

Chevrolet brought in some major talents to produce the four-minute piece, all of them Academy Award winners: musical composer Rachel Portman, director of photography Claudio Miranda, and director Tom Hooper, Oscar winner for The King’s Speech. The focus of the story is a 1966 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport convertible (a big-block four-speed, we notice these things). But the real theme is about how cars help us to connect to our lives, families, and community. Enjoy the video.

  1. I agree, a very good and very touching ad.
But I think the unintended message is that at one time GM produced cars that people sought out and were considered a part of their lives. I doubt that in 2076 people will look back nostalgically at a 2021 Chevy Bolt.

  2. Such a touching ad and class act, thank you Mac for posting this !
I proudly display the BOWTIE and always will.

  3. Has ‘69 Impala convertible for 19 years now with 327, powerglide including am/fm radio, 8 track stereo…Plan to keep it forever until my mind, or vision goes out.

  4. I’ve got the ’73 Mustang, the ’76 F-150, and the ’81 Thunderbird in the pole barn . . . never had the kid though. I knew I was missing something in the equation.
