2019 EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition

Soggy. That’s our topline summary of this year’s EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition at Edsel and Eleanor Ford House.

A week of near-constant rainfall, including a steady drizzle on event day itself, elevated Lake St. Claire to record levels and thoroughly soaked the show field at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House. This year’s edition of the EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition was headed for a washout—or so it might seem. But the show must go on, the relentless organizers decided, and the Father’s Day program came off as scheduled to benefit the Detroit Institute of Opthalmology.

Thanks to the show workers and car owners who braved the impossibly soggy conditions, we can present the gallery below. There were plenty of beautiful vehicles to take in, despite the unpleasant conditions, and we know these owners don’t mind getting their machines wet and dirty. We especially enjoyed checking out the British sports cars. With their nicely tailored tonneau covers, they arrived perfectly equipped to handle the rainy environment.  Select any image to start a slide show.

      • Oh, no problem. Loved the show, just couldn’t believe mother nature and all of her cold wetness…
