Video: Six cubic-inch V8 with blower—Hear it scream

Here’s a miniature miracle from Conley Precision Engines: a 6.095 cubic-inch V8 (that’s around 100cc) with its own equally dinky Roots-type blower. Yes, It runs. Check it out.

The Stinger 609 is produced in Glen Ellyn, Illinois by  Conley Precision Engines, where the credo, says proprietor Gary Conley, is “Perfection is almost good enough.” An original design in quarter-scale dimensions rather than a replica of an existing engine, the Stinger has a bore of 1.00 inch and a stroke of .970 inch. Weighing in (barely) at 11.25 pounds, the little demon revs to 9,000+ rpm.

Now here is the cool part: If you are so inclined, you can buy one of these engines for your very own. The list price is $5,695 assembled and ready to run, less blower but including an integral 12-volt starter and three-stage dry sump oiling system. The blower (go ahead, you may as well) will set you back an additional $1,695. Other Conley products include quarter-scale Model T and ’34 Ford hot rods and a quarter-scale open trailer.

Now watch this.
