Video: Scale Model Masterpieces by Jordi Reixach

Here are some of the most incredibly detailed model cars we’ve ever seen, all created by a true artist, Jordi Reixach.

We’re not experts on model making by any stretch of the imagination. We have only dim memories of the clumsy glue bombs we built from AMT and Monogram plastic kits way back when we were tots. But from our admittedly limited perspective, here are some of the most intricately detailed model cars you will ever find, and they are all the handiwork of Jordi Reixach Rodriguez, who works, we gather, under the name Jordi Reixach.

Working in 1:6 scale, the artist has created highly detailed miniature versions of the Bugatti Atalante, Bentley Continental, Ferrari 275 GTB, Porsche 356, and other familiar classics, which you can view at his website, jordireixach.com, and his YouTube channel. One of his more recent efforts is a Porsche Super 90 Cabriolet with an astonishing number of working features, including door locks, seat adjusters, and radio antenna.  The video below shows the completed model, along with a number of his ingenious and masterful construction techniques. Check it out.

  1. I cannot imagine the patience and dedication required to do this. I am curious how many man hours went into this project.
The comment about”Glue Bomb” models made me laugh. I remember my first attempts where the glue squished out between the plastic parts, was then wiped off making a mess, then waiting for it to dry so I could try to sand the mess, destroying all of the body lines making an even bigger mess, then a thick coat of Testors paint, brushed on, to cover up the whole huge mess.

  2. Wish I still had the eyesight needed to do that! I’d have to have a huge magnifying glass, and even at that, I have nowhere that kind of skills, or patience! My bifocals just don’t enlarge that much!
