Because rubber was made to be burned, here comes the latest video madness from rally star Ken Block. It’s Need for Speed: Ken Block’s Gymkhana Six.
What is the ultimate gymkhana grid course? In this case it’s part movie set, part obstacle course, part giant pinball machine where the game ball is a 650 hp Ford Fiesta. And the pilot is hoon artist supremo Ken Block. Please press play.
Bill, Since I am currently using a 2013 Ford Fiesta I thought I might try this in Kenmare. We do not have any police/Garda but we do have a traffic warden. I am sure he will cooperate, the town is laid out quite well for this. E
specially on market day with the farmers, stalls, etc. Here is a map of the town. http://goo.gl/maps/oo0dw
Excellent. Be sure to install hero cams on your Fiesta and we will post the video here.
Maybe I’m too old for this but so what. It’s sort of cool but it’s not racing, just jerking around.
Ken Block is the Joey Chitwood of his generation. Don’t ask why; just sit back and enjoy.
Ken Block and his cohort’s get all the attention, but if you wanna see some serious testicular fortitude watch these guys;
I see Ken Block’s name a lot, as well as Tanner Foust. I don’t know why they are well known, as they have few actual accomplishments as drivers. As Myron Vernis said, the Joey Chitwood of this generation.
Drifting is full of sound and fury signifying nothing. It’s a demonstration of impressive car control with no practical value. Such skills won’t win a rally or a road race and a car set up for it would be unpleasant driving to the grocery store. It’s the automotive equivalent of pornography; enjoyable to watch but not applicable to the real world.
And I’d personally like to see a shotgun taken to everyone who plays the cowboy on a motorcycle while in traffic.
He did a much better job of managing takes. This is the first video of his I’ve seen where it’s not obvious from all the skidmarks on the pavement that this is his 3rd take at least. Good job, Ken.
