Crazed inventor Colin Furze has a brand new toy: a jet-powered go-kart that tops 60 mph just warming up. Hey, watch this.
Stuntman, filmmaker, inventor, TV personality, journeyman plumber: Colin Furze of Stamford, Lincolnshire, England is a young man of many talents (and plenty of caffeine, it appears). Colin’s zany creations include the world’s longest motorbike, a wall of death recreation, and a working set of X-Men Wolverine claws. Now he’s back with a new internet stunt: a go-kart powered by pulse jet engine of his own manufacture.
To learn more about the nuts and bolts of the jet kart (fairly interesting) you can check out Colin’s build video in two parts: chassis and controls/fuel. In this video, the finished kart is taken on a few test runs, where it easily reaches 61 mph before it runs out of usable runway and the engine can be seen glowing orange hot. Now there’s a good time. Watch this.
Furze is a reckless English nutter whose projects run the gamut from terrifying through juvenile to environmentally irresponsible.
Thank god for men like Colin; we need more of them.
Wow! 61 MPH on a go cart with a glowing hot bomb behind his back, and no safety gear at all! Genius or nutcase, he’s braver {or dumber} that I am!
