Rejoice, Early Ford fans. Famed Ford expert and parts collector Vern Tardel has gone global with a new website dealing in rare, hard-to-find Fomoco components. Here’s the info.
To early Ford enthusiasts and old-school-type hot rodders, Vern Tardel needs no introduction. He’s the co-author of How to Build a Traditional Ford Hot Rod, which is now in its third edition and could be fairly called a bible on the subject. Tardel is also the creator of an entire series of handy pocket-sized guides on Ford lore, covering everything from ignition systems to transmissions to hydraulic brake conversions. We think the little books now number an even dozen titles or more, and we bet there are more to come. For early Ford people, each one of the little guides is a treasure.
Now we hear word of a new enterprise, Vern Tardel’s Online Ford Junkyard. Vern’s half-century hoard of rare vintage Ford parts, which covers several acres in beautiful Santa Rosa, California, will now be available to builders and restorers around the world.
On the website, Ford components from 1924 to 1975 are clearly illustrated and plainly described, and if you don’t see what you need, just ask. He’s got more, lots more. As a bonus, Mr. Tardel knows the subject of Ford Model T, Model A, and early V8 parts—what fits what, what goes where—like few parts vendors you will ever meet. For your early Ford parts needs, or simply for some enjoyable junkyard browsing from the comfort of your own easy chair, check out Vern’s Junkyard.com.
I see the prices are on the high side but they include shipping and handling. I will pay a little more to get treated right.
