You’ll never be late, if it’s a V8! Ford of Britain brings us this morning’s jaunty CarTune from 1936, “The Rhythm of the Road.”
As you know, the CarTune department here at Mac’s Motor City Garage is on semi-permanent hiatus…except when we have a song that’s too much fun not to share, like this one. Thanks to our readers, we have a few more in the can, too—you’ve been warned.
Produced by Ford of Britain as a promotional reel for movie theaters, “The Rhythm of the Road” features an impossibly catchy tune, an entertaining singalong portion, and the vocal stylings of one Gordon Little, who was possibly never heard from again. For us gearheads, there are wonderful scenes of Ford models—both big V8 and British 8 hp models—zipping around the beautiful English countryside. It’s a great time, have a look. And feel free to sing along.
Hooray; CarTune is back! Love it, even if it is for just a guest appearance.
I second the motion Myron
