Wir fahr’n fahr’n fahr’n auf der Autobahn. The German electro-pop supergroup Kraftwerk performs this morning’s CarTune, “Autobahn.”
Few compositions capture the music of the highway as well as Kraftwerk’s signature song, “Autobahn,” from the 1974 album of the same name. And in the hands of these four musicians, the highway proves to be surprisingly musical. Upon listening to “Autobahn,” you may find yourself humming your favorite parts all day.
It’s said the song was written to capture one specific stretch of highway: the A555 from Köln to Bonn, the very first portion of the Autobahn constructed from 1929 to 1932 under Konrad Adenauer. And as it turns out, this is not just great road music, it’s very nice Saturday morning mood music as well. This live performance is from the 2005 concert video, Minimum-Maximum. Please enjoy.

Car Tune is back with one of my all time favorites! Time to pull the 356 out for some fahr’n, fahr’n, fahr’n.
HOORAY, CarTunes is back!!! Although, I always thought this was a pretty lame song,(unless you were trippin’, maybe) and I always thought they were saying, Fun, Fun, Fun, on the Autobahn. Heck, go down any given interstate today, you’d think they were all Autobahns. Thanks for bringing CarTunes back.
Hehe very interesting and definitely fun music to humm along 🙂
Will share this!
