What is an orphan car, anyway? Orphan is our loving name for the castoffs and misfits of the collector car world—the lapsed and failed brands that make automotive history so rich and fascinating. The strict definition of an orphan make can get a bit complicated, but we leave those details to the show’s expert organizing team. As veteran attendees of the Ypsi Orphan Show, here’s what we know you will find on the display field at Riverside Park:
Packards, Studebakers, Hudsons, Nashes, Hupmobiles, Kaisers, Frazers, Willys-Overlands, Reos, King Midgets, Maxwells, Tuckers, Franklins, Corvairs, Edsels…
And many, many more forgotten and obscure automotive makes. Truly, here is an opportunity to see cars you just won’t find anywhere else. The only way I’d miss this show would be if I was out of the country. If you’re a true car enthusiast and with a half day’s travel to the Detroit area, you need to be there.
