After more than a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EyesOn Design, one of the nation’s top classic car events, is back on this Sunday, September 19.
WHAT: The 33rd annual EyesOn Design Automotive Design Exhibition, one of the top classic car events in the USA and the only one focused exclusively on vehicle design.
WHERE: Edsel and Eleanor Ford House; 1100 Lake Shore Rd, Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan 48236
WHEN: Next Sunday, September 19, 2021 10AM to 4PM.
True to its name on several counts, the Detroit area’s annual EyesOn Design exhibition spotlights the great designs of the automotive world, and the proceeds from the event benefit the important work of the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology, providing research, education, and support for the visually impaired. Normally held on Father’s Day each June, the event was rescheduled for September this time around due to the pandemic.
The theme for this year’s show has us especially geeked up: “Marques of Extinction: Significant Designs of Bygone Brands.” It’s like they designed a theme just for us, and meanwhile, the classes include Works of Art, Last of the Land Yachts, Muscle Memories, and Classic Motorcycles. In other words, it’s sure to be another exceptional show this year. See you there.

I was wondering if a mid- late 50’s Buick spotters guide would be useful to readers?
I would love to do one if the interest is there.
I think it’s very interesting how these Buick’s are now causing us to re-examine our love affair with Chevrolets of similar years. The seemingly excessive chrome on the rear ends, a good colour choice and a subtle lowering of the roofline all serve to accentuate the wonderful swooping door and quarter mouldings. Seriously- where have these things been hiding all these years???
What is the info on that gorgeous Orange/Bronze roadster ?
A google search for image tells me it is an antique car ( that’s no help ! ).
