Here’s photo coverage of the 2012 Milan Dragway Nostalgia Drags this past Saturday in Milan, Michigan.
The annual Nostalgia Drags is said to be one of the more popular events on the calendar for Milan Dragway, the Detroit area’s favorite drag strip. This year’s show included bracket eliminations for the Nostalgia Box (as in delay box), Nostalgia No-Box, and Nostalgia Sportsman cars; the United Manual Transmission Association, and the season finale for the Great Lakes Gasser Association. A car show and a swap meet/vendor’s midway were thrown in for good measure.
MCG wasn’t able to hang around for the full day-into-night proceedings. So many car events, so little time. We did drop in on Saturday morning to catch the car show and shine and the first several rounds of time trials and qualifying. The autumn air was cool and the track was hooking up nicely—check out the gallery below.
I usually hate Chevy engines in Fords but the six in the T is so wacky it’s lovable.
It is a pity they are using modern tyres, the so called street drags tyres would be more suitable than those very wrinkle wall tyres for true nostalgia. And they probably would run truer too. But very nice pics.
