Today’s headlines:

 General Motors has offered its union workers a 10 percent wage increase spread over the next four years, which United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain described as “insulting.” More at Reuters. 

+  Volkswagen Group of America CEO Pablo Di Si says the new ID.GTI EV would be a great fit for the American car market, though as yet there are no plans to offer it here. More at Car and Driver. 

 James Kuffner, the chief executive of Toyota’s autonomous driving technology unit Woven by Toyota, will step down from his post to take a position with another Toyota unit. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   Legacy Motor Club announced that John Hunter Nemechek will drive the no. 42 NASCAR Cup Toyota in 2024, replacing Noah Gragson, who was released in August. More at Fox Sports.

 Stefanie Wurst, head of the Mini Group at BMW, told Top Gear that the new Mini Cooper due to arrive in 2025 will not be available with a conventional manual tranmission. More at Autoweek. 

 Ford has unveiled the Mustang Mach-E Rally, a special edition with rally-inspired performance features including an upgraded rear motor that increases total torque to 650 lb-ft. More at Motor Trend. 

+   Tesla will install 20,000 electric vehicle charging kiosks at 2,000 Hilton hotel  properties across the United States, Mexico and Canada beginning next year, the companies announced. More at CNBC. 

 While Dodge is discontinuing the Charger and Challenger Hellcats at the end of 2023, the Durango Hellcat SUV will remain in production for another year with the same 710-hp V8. More at  The Drive.  

 As anticipated, Honda and Acura will adopt Tesla’s NACS (North American Charging System) connector and offer an adaptor to allow CCS models to use the Supercharger system. More at Autoblog. 

+   In a multiyear deal, IndyCar driver Felix Rosenquist will move from Arrow McLaren to Meyer-Shank Racing in 2024 where he will be teamed with series rookie Tom Blomqvist. More at Racer.
