 BMW expects to sell more cars in China this year despite a local price war in the EV segment and reduced demand overall, said chief financial officer Walter Mertl in Munich. More at Reuters. 

+   United Auto Workers president Shawn Fain announced that the union has filed unfair labor practice charges with the National Labor Relations Board against Stellantis and General Motors. More at The Detroit News.

 At the Munich Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiled the ID.GTI, an electric hot hatchback that is said to be a thinly veiled prototype for a production car to be introduced soon. More at Motor Authority.

+   At the Italian Grand Prix, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen scored a historic 10th consecutive victory in a single season, eclipsing Sebastian Vettel’s record of nine in 2013. More at the Guardian. 

A man was pulled over by local police in Norfolk, Nebraska driving a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria that was customized to carry his 2,200-lb longhorn bull in the passenger area. More at Motor Trend.  

 Chinese EV maker Hozon Auto has appointed China International Capital Corporation (CICC) and Morgan Stanley to execute its Hong Kong IPO, which could raise $1 Billion. More at World Auto Forum. 

 At Munich, BMW introduced the Vision Neue Klasse, an electric sedan concept that signals a move toward simpler and cleaner vehicle design from the German luxury carmaker. More at The Drive.

 A 1937 Cord 812 formerly owned by aviator Amelia Earhart, the 33rd inductee into the National Historic Vehicle Register, is now on diplay at the National Mall in Washington, DC. More at Old Cars. 

+   With his victory at Portland this past weekend, Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing clinched his second IndyCar championship with one race still remaining  on the 2023 calendar. More at IndyStar.
