+   A McLaren spokesman denied reports in the Financial Times that the car maker was discussing a possible investment or buyout from computer giant Apple. More at CNBC. 

+   General Motors will produce the Chevrolet Silverado at its Oshawa, Ontario assembly plant as part of its tentative four-year agreement with Unifor, the Canadian auto union. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Honda sales chief John Mendel says U.S. auto sales will continue at a brisk but reduced rate, predicting total sales volume of 16 to 17 million vehicles in 2017. More at Bloomberg.com. 

+   Hyundai will introduce its premium Genesis brand to the Chinese market in the next two to three years, says Genesis brand chief Manfred Fitzgerald. More at Reuters. 

+   Joseph Newgarden will move from Ed Carpenter Racing to drive an IndyCar for Roger Penske in 2017, replacing veteran Juan Pablo Montoya. More at Racer. 

+   In 2017, Holden Special Vehicles reportedly will send off the Holden Commodore with a special LS9 Corvette-powered model called the W1 with production limited to 250 units. More at Australia Motoring. 

+   An anti-union workers’ group at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee has lost its certification due to low membership, easing the way for possible UAW representation. More at ABC News. 

+   Tesla Motors has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids, Michigan, seeking to challenge the state’s law barring factory-direct auto sales. More at CNN Money.

+   JDC-Miller MotorSports will add a Prototype class program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2017 with an ORECA 07 LMP2 car. More at Motorsport.com.
