 As the United Auto Workers strike against the Detroit three automakers entered its third day, all the parties reportedly had contract talks scheduled but there is no resolution yet in sight. More at Reuters.

+   Tesla reports it has developed a process in which its gigacasting method can be used to form virtually the entire floorpan of a vehicle in a single aluminum alloy casting. More at CBT News. 

 Nissan unveiled its retro-flavored Frontier Hardbody Edition as a $3890 package for the SV Crew Cab 4X4, which includes 17-in wheels, all-terrain tires, and a sport bar. More at Car and Driver. 

 Arrow McLaren IndyCar driver Pato O’Ward of Mexico will test a McLaren Formula 1 car in the Abu Dhabi free practice and in the post-race tire test a week after the F1 season finale.More at Motorsport.com. 

+   Subaru, which already has an assembly plant in Lafayette, Indiana, could locate its planned EV plant in the state, according to CEO Atsushi Osaki, who says a decision is near. More at World Auto Forum. 

 Ford has patented an arrangement with a subframe and chassis extension that would allow a second tandem axle to be installed on a Ford pickup, increasing load capacity. More at CarBuzz.
