+   Swedish truck maker AB Volvo  posted a worse-than-expected decline in quarterly adjusted earnings due to a dip in sales and is forecasting stagnant vehicle demand next year. More at Reuters.  

 Wholesale used vehicle prices edged up by 0.3 percent in the first half of October while retail prices were down 2.8 percent, according to the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index. More at CBT News. 

+   Stellantis will close its 4,000-acre vehicle proving grounds in Yucca, Arizona by the end of the year and reassign its employees as it continues to cut costs, the automaker confirmed. More at The Detroit News. 

 Toyota has renamed its North American motorsports operations, including the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity programs, as Toyota Gazoo Racing North America starting in 2025. More at Racer.

 Electric luxury sedan maker Lucid predicts that a combined public offering and private placement of approximagely 637 million shares would likely fetch it $1.67 billion. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) plans to establish a new standard for pickups and SUVS to make them less dangerous in pedestrian impacts. More at Autoweek. 

+   Nissan is studying the adoption of extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) along with EVs and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) as part of a more aggressive EV sales strategy. More at Motor Trend. 

 The track-ready 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 features revised exterior styling and a 4.0-liter flat six with 502 horsepower, and is now offered with the lightweight Weissach package. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Dodge has introduced yet another Durango special edition with 710 hp of Hellcat V8 power: the SRT Brass Monkey with unique red paint that appears to be almost black. More at Road & Track. 

 With a victory at Las Vegas, Penske driver Joey Logano became the first of the eight NASCAR Cup playoff contenders to lock up one of the four final sports for the season title. More at the Las Vegas Sun.
