That’s a very attractive car and well photographed. The selling price seems rational as well. It’s nice to see an auction photo that isn’t set against a white backdrop with bright lighting. I wouldn’t expect that shade of brown to look so good on an automobile but it’s nicely offset by the trim, whitewalls and chrome.
Thanks for your thoughts, always appreciated. I recognize I am a broken record on this subject, but I really admire the paint colors of the 1930s. They really knew how to select colors to complement a design. And of course, probably no one did it better than GM and Cadillac under Harley Earl. As we know, the original name of his department was Art and Colour.
Fords of this era also used especially nice colors, starting with the Model A. Was this primarily the work of Edsel Ford? It would seem so but I would like to learn more. mcg
