 Electric vehicle startup Fisker is negotiating with five carmakers to form a partnership to secure additional production capacity, says chief executive Henrik Fisker. More at Reuters. 

 Former NASCAR Cup team owner Leo Jackson Jr., who won four consecutive Cup races with driver Harry Gant in the Skoal Bandit Oldsmobile in 1991, has passed away at 90. More at The Checkered Flag. 

+   A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers is urging the Biden administration to increase tariffs on Chinese-made vehicles and block Chinese companies from using Mexico as a gateway. More at Automotive Addicts.

+   Four large pickup trucks fared poorly in protecting back seat passengers in moderate overlap front crash tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) reports. More at World Auto Forum. 

 Clayton Thom, the owner of CNC Motors, an exotic car dealership in Southern California, has been charged with 37 counts of grand theft and 13 counts of tax fraud. More at The Drive. 

 The 2025 Ram 1500 will feature updated styling and a larger touchscreen, while a pair of turbocharged Hurricane inline sixes with 420 and 540 hp will replace the familiar Hemi V8s. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Reporting a third-quarter loss of $155 million, Swedish EV maker Polestar cut its 2025 deliveries target and warned that despite cost cuts, it will still need to raise operating cash. More at CNBC. 

+   General Motors president Mark Reuss affirmed that Cadillac is committed to partnering with Andretti Global in Formula 1 and is not interested in any other teams. More at AP News.

  1. We have to wonder how the Mopar faithful will take to the Hurricane inline six as a replacement for their beloved Hemi (that was never a real Hemi).

    • I don’t think it will go well with those who buy these trucks to work and tow with, regardless of the rated hp and torque figures.
