 In its 2019 financial report, the Williams Formula 1 team disclosed that it has terminated its sponsor deal with ROK Drinks and is seeking a buyer or major investor. More at Speedcafe. 

+   Honda’s premium Acura brand has revealed the latest version of the TLX luxury sedan due in 2021 with two turbocharged engine choices and a revived Type S model. More at Autoblog. 

+   French carmaker Renault is poised to announce 15,000 layoffs worldwide today, 4,500 of them in France, as it restructures to control costs and improve profitability. More at Reuters. 

 Ford is testing a software plugin for its Police Interceptor models that will raise the cabin temperature to 133 degrees for 15 minutes to neutralize the COVID-19 virus. More at Car and Driver. 

 The FIA World Motor Sport Council formally approved major Formula 1 rule changes for the next three years, including budget caps and aerodynamic testing restrictions. More at Racer. 

+   As anticipated. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will discontinue the Dodge Grand Caravan in August, leaving the Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager as the automaker’s only minivans. More at The Drive. 

+   General Motors will add second and third shifts at its Flint, Fort Wayne, and Wentzville truck plants as the company fights to overcome parts delays. More at The Detroit News.

 Tesla announced a series of price cuts on current models, including $2,000 on the Model 3, $5,000 on the Model S sedan, and $5,000 as well on the Model Y SUV. More at Autoweek. 

 Michigan, nearly two dozen other states, and several cities filed a legal challenge to the Trump administration’s rollback of Obama-era fuel mileage standards. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   Aston Martin has launched production of its 25 authentic DB5 continuation cars, equipped with James Bond-style gadgets and priced at more than $3 million each. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 Several World Endurance Championship teams are calling for a reduction in events in 2021 from eight to five or six due to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. More at Motorsport.com.
