 To great fanfare, Ford unveiled the F-150 Lightning, the battery-electric version of its  best-selling pickup truck, which is scheduled to arrive in showrooms in the spring of 2022. More at CNBC.com. 

+   A Dutch court ordered deposed auto executive Carlos Ghosn to repay $6.1 million in wages to Nissan and Mitsubishi in a case he had brought against the companies. More at Reuters. 

 Daimler’s truck and bus division plans to shift most of its vehicle development resources to zero-emissions vehicles by 2025, says chief executive Martin Daum. More at The Detroit News. 

+   NHRA driver Antron Brown will serve as owner-driver of his own Top Fuel team next year with equipment and personnel from his current team, Don Schumacher Racing. More at Racer. 

+   Porsche previewed a quicker, more powerful Cayenne coupe variant with a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 and more than 600 horsepower that is due next summer. More at Autoblog. 

 According to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, President Joe Biden would like to electrify the 15,000-lb, Cadillac-skinned presidential limousine known as “the Beast.” More at Car and Driver.  

+   Bonhams’ first live auction for its UK motor car team in 2021, the Bond Street Sale in London, generated more than $6 million in sales and a 95 percent sell-through rate. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 Ford is forming a joint venture with SK Innovation of South Korea that will build two North American factories to make batteries for roughly 600,000 electric vehicles per year. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 One of the last Hendrick NASCAR Cup cars raced by Jeff Gordon, a Chevy SS he drove in 2014-15, will be offered at RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island auction this weekend. More at Road & Track. 

 Japanese technology giant NTT, which became the title sponsor of the IndyCar series in 2019, has signed a multi-year extension to continue the agreement. More at Motorsport.com.
