+   Now it’s official: Ford CEO Alan Mulally will retire effective July 1, to be replaced by current chief operating officer Mark Fields. More at USA Today.

  1. I’m sure someone is already working to clone the Z-28. After all, out of the 20,302 made in 1969, only 36,924 are left.(yes I picked the second number out of my backside)

  2. And we are to believe the “restrictions” are going to stop the bad guy from getting the parts? Why is GM going through this trouble since all one has to do to spot a fake is check the VIN? The engine digit (8th position) better be “E” otherwise it did not come with the LS7 and therefore is not a Z/28.

    • I don’t think GM is worried about complete fakes but clones, which could also dampen sales.
