+   Volkswagen Group of America is recalling nearly 60,500 2021 to 2023 Audi and Volkswagen vehicles to repair a defect in the electronic transmission gear selector indicator. More at USA Today. 

 German automaker BMW has secured its position as the top U.S. vehicle exporter by value, surpassing domestic giants including Ford, General Motors, Stellantis, and Tesla. More at CBT News. 

+   Veteran driver and team manager Lee Kunzman, who made four career Indianapolis 500 starts and overcame severe injuries including burns over 40 percent of his body, has died at 80. More at WNIC. 

+   Around 38,000 Stellantis employees represented by the United Auto Workers will each receive profit sharing checks averaging $3,780 based on the number of hours worked. More at The Detroit News. 

  As an experiment, used car retailer Carvana is branching out into new vehicles with the acquisition of a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram franchise just south of Tempe, Arizona. More at The Drive. 

 A recent JD Power study found that the biggest barrier to EV adoption is access to working chargers, as users report one in five attempts fail at public charging stations. More at Autoweek.
