+   General Motors will halt production at its Fort Wayne, Indiana plant, which builds the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, for two weeks due to the microchip shortage. More at Reuters. 

+   Stellantis has introduced the Hurricane 3.0 liter turbocharged inline six, which is intended to replace the Hemi V8 engines used in Dodge, Chrysler, Ram, and Jeep vehicles. More at Car and Driver.

 The U.S. Postal Service announced that is has ordered more than 10,000 new electric delivery trucks, doubling the number of electric vehicles in its original order. More at The Detroit News. 

+   The Haas Formula 1 team withdrew the entry of Mick Shumacher in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after his massive high-speed crash in the second qualifying session. More at Sky Sports. 

+   A leopard wandered into a Mercedes-Benz factory In Chakan, India in the state of Maharashtra, shutting down production for several hours until it could be safely removed. More at The Drive. 

 The Electrify America national vehicle charging network is planning upscale charging centers with protective canopies, longer cables, and up to 350 kW of charging power. More at Autoweek. 

 Chevrolet and a local Chevrolet dealer are donating a new Silverado LT pickup to an Elgin, Texas family whose Chevy pickup was badly damaged in a tornado but survived. More at Autoblog. 

 Officials of the Artcurial Paris Retromobile auction called the event a rousing success with $41.7 million in sales and six lots going for more than 1 million euros each. More at Sports Car Digest. 

+   Graphex Technologies and Emerald Energy Solutions will build a $60 milllion graphite processing facility in Warren, MIchigan to supply local EV battery producers. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

 Last week’s NASCAR Cup race at the redesigned Atlanta Motor Speedway on Fox television earned a 2.36 rating with 4.003 million viewers, an increase over last year. More at Jayski.
