+   Ford was once again forced to shut down its Dearborn Truck Plant where the F-150 pickup is produced due to component supply problems caused by the microchip shortage. More at The Detroit News. 

+   General Motors has added two new members to its corporate board of directors, Meg Whitman and Mark Tatum, expanding the board to 13, seven of them women. More at Reuters. 

+   In response to a rash of vehicle thefts, Dodge has added a security feature to selected Charger and Challenger performance models that limits the engine to 3 hp.  More at Car and Driver. 

 NASCAR Cup drivers will race on dirt for the first time since September, 1970 this weekend at Bristol, where the half-mile speedway has been covered over with clay. More at ESPN. 

  Chinese automaker Geely is launching a premium electric car brand called Zeekr that will use the company’s Sustainable Experience Architecture and compete with Tesla. More at The Drive. 

+   In a unanimous decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that product liability lawsuits against the Ford Motor Company involving two 2015 crashes could move forward. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   A British firm will offer restored and updated versions of the Jaguar E-Type with electronic fuel injection and other features, limited to 20 copies and priced at $580,000. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

+   The National Labor Relations Board ordered Tesla to reinstate a fired employee and make CEO Elon Musk delete a tweet that was deemed threatening to labor organizers. More at CNBC. 

+   The Mecum Auctions Glendale, Arizona sale generated $42.3 million in total sales at an 86 percent sell-through rate, led by a 1967 Corvette L88 that sold for $2.695 million. More at Hemmings Daily. 

 Analysts at Nielsen Sports are projecting that the Formula 1 series could reach an audience of one billion people in 2021, driven by interest from the 16-to-35 age group. More at Motorsport.com. .
