 The Vancouver International Auto Show removed EV maker Tesla from its event this week, citing safety as its concern following incendiary remarks about Canada by CEO Elon Musk. More at Axios.

+   Chinese EV maker BYD unveiled its megawatt charging system (MCS) for passenger cars, promising a gain of 249 miles of range in just five minutes at up to 1,000 kW. More at Autoweek. 

+   Observers are speculating that Toyota may bring the C-HR+ electric crossover, now slated for Europe, to the United States in 2026, but the automaker has announced no plans. More at Autoblog. 

+   Vehicle thefts in the United States recorded their biggest yearly drop in four decades as automakers, mainly Hyundai and Kia, improved the anti-theft devices on their products. More at World Auto Forum. 

 The provisional entry list for the 2025 Indianapolis 500 includes 34 car-and-driver combinations so far, ensuring that at least one entry will not qualify for the 33-car field. More at Racer.
