+   General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced that the automaker’s vehicles will gain access to the Tesla Supercharger system and adopt the Tesla connector, joining Ford. More at The Verge. 

 After camouflaged vehicles were seen testing in Colorado, sources confirmed that Ram’s new mid-size pickup will be sold in the United States, where it will be called the Ram Rampage. More at The Drive.

+   Toyota is investing nearly $50 million to construct a new battery laboratory at its North American research and development headquarters outside Ann Arbor, Michigan, near Detroit. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Veteran Ryan Hunter-Reay has replaced Conor Daly in Ed Carpenter Racing’s No. 20 Dallara-Chevrolet, beginning with the IndyCar Series race at Road America on June 18. More at NBC Sports.

 Tesla is reportedly negotiating with authorities for the construction of yet another gigafactory, this one to be located in the Valencia, Spain metropolitan area at a cost of $4.8 billion. More at Teslerati. 

+   U.S. luxury electric vehicle maker Lucid Group is preparing to enter China, the world’s largest auto market, its head of China operations Zhu Jiang announced this week. More at Reuters. 

+  The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro will bow out in 2024 with a final run of special blacked-out Collector’s Editions with exclusive wheels, paint, trim, and other features. More at Car and Driver. 

+   A 1967 Mustang Eleanor replica formerly owned by entertainer Danny Gans and said to be one of the finest built will be offered at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction. More at ClassicCars.com Journal.
