Today’s headlines:

 Tesla shareholders voted to approve a $56 billion pay package for CEO Elon Musk,  and also approved a move of the EV maker’s legal headquarters to Texas from Delaware. More at Reuters.  

 Trade officials in Beijing condemned increased European Union tariffs on Chinese EVs as protectionist and said ithey hoped the EU would correct its “wrong practices.” More at World Auto Forum. 

+   The National Labor Relations Board is asking an Arizona judge to reinstate two former workers at RV maker Lucid Motors who were allegedly fired for trying to organize workers. More at The Detroit News. 

 NASCAR Cup 2017 champion Martin Truex Jr., who will be 44 next month, is expected to announce his retirement from Joe Gibbs Racing and Cup competition this weekend. More at ESPN. 

 Porsche USA and Porsche Canada have arranged with the ChargePoint network to open up 20,000 charging stations in Canada and 86,000 in the USA to Porsche owners. More at Motor Illustrated. 

 BMW unveiled its 2025 refresh of the 2 Series with updated electronics, a revised center stack design, a wide palette of new exterior colors, and a starting price of $40,375. More at Autoblog. 

+   Volkswagen announced that an updated 2025 Golf R will arrive this summer with a 2.0-liter turbo four and 329 hp, but it’s not clear if a manual transmission will be offered. More at Motor Authority. 

 Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa confirmed that the Renegade SUV, cancelled in 2023. will return in 2027 as an EV priced at less than $25,000, and that ICE and hybrid models  could follow. More at Car and Driver. 

 The NTT IndyCar Series is headed to Fox in 2025 as part of a new multiyear broadcast deal in which all 17 races next season will be aired on the network’s main channel. More at Racer. 

+   Ford is ending its controversial “EV-Certified” electric vehicle dealership program that initially asked franchise owners to invest upward of $1 million to sell and service EVs. More at CNBC.
