 At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Consolidated Ideal TeamVentures, current owners of the De Tomaso brand, unveiled a reimagined Pantera P72 concept. More at Autoblog. 

+   NASCAR driver Justin Haley and his Spire Motorsports Chevrolet managed a major upset in the Daytona Monster Cup race at Daytona when the race was called due to rain. More at Jayski. 

 Cruise, General Motors’ self-driving vehicle company, disclosed that the U.S. government approved a $2.25 billion investment by Japan’s SoftBank Corporation. More at Reuters. 

+  Volkswagen and Ford have formed an engineering partnership with Ford adopting VW’s MEB electric vehicle platform and VW using Ford’s autonomous technology. More at The Drive. 

+   Automobile sales in China for the first quarter of 2019 dropped 12.2 percent for General Motors, while Ford’s sales results slumped by 21.7 percent. More at Financial World. 

 At Goodwood, Porsche unveiled the latest version of the 911 RSR, designed to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA in the USA. More at CNET Roadshow.
