+   According to a letter sent to automakers obtained by The Detroit News, the Trump administration will zero out all federal fuel economy fines dating back to model year 2022. More at The Detroit News. 

 Chinese EV brands Neta and Zeekr allegedly inflated sales in recent years to hit aggressive volume targets, booking vehicles as sold before they reached their buyers. More at The Economic Times. 

+   Raj Jegannathan, a senior IT executive with no apparent experience in the area, is now reportedly runnning sales at Tesla in place of Troy Jones, who left easlier this month. More at Yahoo! Finance. 

+   With its three-year contract ending, the NASCAR Cup series will not race on the streets of Chicago next year, but NASCAR officials are studying a return to the city in 2027. More at ESPN. 

+   Ford will produce an extended-wheelbase, battery-electric version of the Bronco SUV with 404 miles of range in China, but the carmaker has plans to offer it in the USA. More at The Drive. 

 Mercedes-Benz is offering deep discounts on its battery-electric EQ models as it prepares to end their production in the United States due to the end of EV tax credits. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Porsche CEO Oliver Blume is planning another round of cost-cutting measures to help the German carmaker cope with challenges in China and the U.S. tariff dispute. More at World Auto Forum. 

 Broad Arrow Auctions will host the Las Vegas Auction in partnershp with the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, to be held in tandem with the Concours on October 31. More at Old Cars. 

 IndyCar driver Pato O’Ward mocked rumors of a potential move to the Cadillac Formula 1 team in 2026, comparing them to the Taylor Swift-Fernando Alonso dating gossip. More at Motorsport.com.
