+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is studying a return to the midsize pickup market, as well as a full-sized SUV based on the big Ram pickup but badged as a Dodge, Chrysler, or Jeep. More at the Detroit Free Press.

+   The winning Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota of Matt Kenseth failed the post-race laser platform inspection Sunday at New Hampshire and will be sent to NASCAR’s technical center for further examination. More at ABC News.

+   To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Jeep, Fiat Chrysler has unveiled the Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute Concept, painted in Olive Drab to match the original Willys MB. More at Motor Trend. 

+   Ford is among five investors putting $6.6 million into a California startup firm that generates three-dimensional maps to help guide self-driving cars. More at USA Today.

+   Jeff Gordon was officially named as the replacement driver for Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis this week if Earnhardt remains sidelined by post-concussion symptoms. More at Motorsport.com.
