+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will invest more than $1 billion and add 1,000 jobs at two plants in Toledo, Ohio and Belvidere, Illinois where the Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee will be built. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Britain should consider prosecuting Volkswagen over the diesel emissions scandal, a committee of lawmakers has reported, accusing the government of being too slow to act. More at Reuters. 

+   Following several well-publicized accidents, Consumer Reports is urging Telsa Motors to disable the Autopilot self-driving feature until it can be overhauled and rebranded. More at USA Today.

+   NASCAR veteran Dale Earnhardt Jr. has stepped out of the cockpit upon suffering concussion-like symptoms following two recent crashes at Michigan and Daytona. More at ESPN. 

+   General Motors and Clark-Cutler-McDermott, a Massachusetts supplier that filed for Chapter 11 protection, have reached an agreement that will avert a production shutdown for GM. More at the Detroit Free Press. 

+   For the fifth year in a row, the 48,000 unionized workers at Hyundai Motors in Korea have voted to authorize a strike after wage discussions broke down. More at Automotive News Europe. 

+   Automotive supplier BorgWarner will spend $27 million to expand its operations in Auburn Hills, Michigan in suburban Detroit, potentially adding 76 jobs. More at Crain’s Detroit Business. 

+   A new study by AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety found that nearly 80 percent of drivers expressed “significant” anger or road rage behind the wheel at least once in the past year. More at the Indianapolis Star. 

+   Featured lots at the Mecum Auctions Harrisburg 2016 sale on July 21-23 will include the sole known surviving Motion Manta Ray Corvette. More at Hemmings Daily. 

+   Ford dealers that sell and service the new 2017 Ford GT will be required to install a dedicated clean room for repairs and maintenance at a cost of $30,000 or more per store. More at Yahoo! Sports. 

+   At Road America, IndyCar teams tested three revised carbon braking systems for the shared Dallara DW12 chassis, an area said to be open to improvement. More at Racer.
