 The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) cut back its 2019 sales forecast for passenger cars from a 1 percent increase to a 1 percent decrease. More at Automotive News Europe.

 Two U.S. senators have introduced a bill that would electronically limit tractor-trailer speeds to 65 mph, a move they say would save lives on the highways. More at The Detroit News.

+  Famed motorcycle racer Carlin Dunne was fatally injured in a crash near the end of the course at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, an event the rider had won four times. More at The Denver Post. 

+   Ford has confirmed that the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will carry a base price of $73,995, with a carbon fiber track package available for an additional $18,500. More at Road & Track. 

+   Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has revived the Voyager minivan badge for two lower-trimmed versions of the Chrysler Pacifica, replacing the L and LX models. More at Motor Trend.

+   Chevrolet’s last front-engine Corvette sold for $2.7 million at the Barrett-Jackson Northeast auction to benefit to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. More at Classic Cars.com Journal. 

 Enthusiasts should expect sports cars to change more in the next seven years than in the previous 70 years, says Porsche digital and innovation chief Anja Hendel. More at CNBC.

+  More than three hours after the finish, race officials confirmed Red Bull driver Max Verstappen as the winner of the Austrian Grand Prix over Charles Leclerc of Ferrari. More at Racer.

  1. I tend to believe the decline in European sales will be greater than that. If Brexit isn’t stopped we will have essentially the death of the British auto industry.
