 +   Vietnamese EV maker VinFast reports that it delivered nearly 35,000 cars in 2023, falling short of its target of 40,000 units, but a 35 percent increase over the previous quarter. More at Reuters. 

 +   The Southfield, Michigan-based U.S. Advanced Battery Consortium has won a $60 million federal grant to research and develop batteries manufactured with domestic materials. More at The Detroit News. 

 Ford unveiled the F-150 Lightning Switchgear test truck, a battery-electric equivalent of the F-150 Raptor with full offroad capabilities, but there are no plans yet for production. More at Autoblog. 

+   Mercedes Formula 1 technical director James Allison has committed his future to the team, signing a long-term contract extension that will keep him on the job through 2026. More at Autosport.com. 

 BMW has passed the tipping point for internal-combustion vehicle sales and now generates most sales growth from electric cars, reports chief financial officer Walter Mertl. More at World Auto Forum.

+   At the Tokyo Auto Salon, Mazda President Katsuhiro Mogo suggested that the reponse to the Iconic-SP rotary sports car was strong enough that development will proceed. More at Motor Trend. 

+   The world-renowned Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California, a specialist in French cars of the 1930s, announced it will close its doors permanently on February 10. More at Autoweek. 

 Stellantis has released specifications and photos of the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S electric SUV and has confirmed that it will go on sale this fall, though pricing was not disclosed. More at Motor Authority. 

+   The Front Row Motorsports NASCAR Cup team is switching its technical partnership from RFK Racing to Team Penske, Cup champions for Ford the past two years in a row. More at Motorsports Wire. 

 The Broad Arrow Auctions Amelia Island sale on on March 1-2 will feature the Gregorie Neck collection of 16 exceptional pre-war classics to be sold at no reserve. More at Old Cars.
