  1. All EV owners should be required to have solar panels for charging their cars. Shouldn’t be able to charge from the grid. I also believe that all charging stations should be solar.

    • Solar panels generate around 15 watts per square foot. A car doesn’t have enough surface area. I don’t understand why electric cars can’t be charged on the grid. Even if the energy comes from a coal plant, an EV is still cleaner than a gasoline car. I do agree that solar energy should be utlized wherever it is practical. The sun is a free fusion reactor.

    • Mark,
The power required to charge a typical EV at a commercial charging station [in the same time frame] would likely require a solar panel array the size of a 40 car parking lot, just for 1 charger. Solar panels don’t have anywhere the power output needed to charge EVs today.

    • More to the point, WHY would we want to restrict EV chargers to solar energy only? What is that supposed to accomplish?

. “We entered the next phase of our racing series with great anticipation and excitement for what was ahead. Our expectations, however, have been tempered by market factors that have proven too much to overcome.”

Translation; We were unable to secure series sponsorship.
