+   According to the Korean press, Hyundai and Apple will forge an agreement for Hyundai to assemble the Apple car in the United States, with production starting in 2024. More at Reuters. 

+  Tesla has added a cheaper, standard-range version of the Model Y Crossover with 244 miles range, rear-wheel drive, and the base price reduced $8000 to $43,190. More at Car and Driver. 

+  Ford and Nissan each confirmed they are cutting vehicle production in the U.S. and Japan due to a shortage of semiconductors, a growing concern for auto manufacturers. More at CNBC. 

 After two years in IndyCar with Dale Coyne Racing, Santino Ferucci has signed a deal to drive part of the 2021 season in the NASCAR Xfinity series for Sam Hunt Racing. More at NBC Sports. 

 General Motors has redesigned its familiar GM logo with the “M” resembling an electrical plug to signify its goal of selling one million electric vehicles annually by 2025. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Ford has leaked a photo of the upcoming Maverick small pickup, which is reportedly based on a front-drive, unibody platform and expected to debut sometime in 2022. More at Autoblog. 

+   Heavy truck orders ended 2020 on a high note with an intake level of 52,100 units, according to preliminary data released by FTR Transportation Intelligence. More at Commercial Carrier Journal. 

+   The FBI confirmed that it searched the headquarters of Ducati North America in Mountain View, California in December, reportedly looking for financial documents. More at The Drive.
