+   Korean carmaker Hyundai reported to shareholders that it is divesting its controlling stake in an Alabama parts supplier following revelations that the company employed illegal child labor. More at AL.com. 

+   After completing only 19 Endurance battery-electric pickups, troubled EV startup Lordstown Motors has halted production due to what it called “production and quality issues.” More at Car and Driver. 

+   Car collector and Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine has filed a lawsuit against noted dealer Rick Cole, alleging that the Maserati Ghibli he purchased from Cole is not a real 4.9 model. More at The Drive. 

+   The IndyCar series announced a raft of safety, technical, and procedural rules changes for 2023, including modifications to the aeroscreen to improve visibility in the rain. More at Motorsport.com.

+   The winner of the Ridler Award at the 2023 Detroit Autorama is a 1950 Mercury called Maximus owned by Luigi Deriggi of New Jersey and built by Pro Comp Custom. More at Hemmings.  

+   Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares received total compensation of $24.8 million in 2022, while former Fiat Chrysler CEO Mike Manley received $54.1 million in departing. More at the Detroit Free Press.    

 Italy seeks to team up with France and Germany to slow the pace of European Union laws intended to reduce vehicle emissions, said Industry Minister Adolfo Urso. More at Reuters. 

 Annie Liu, a former Tesla executive who joined Ford to serve as executive director of purchasing for its electric vehicle lines, has left the company, but no replacement has been announced. More at The Detroit News. 

+   Volkswagen announced that the company will build and operate its own assembly plant in the United States to produce the Scout EV, rather than rely on an outside supplier. More at Autoblog. 

+   A 1931 Duesenberg J Murphy Disappearing Top Convertible hidden away in a family  garage for 56 years has been acquired by specialist Doug Pray and will receive a full restoration. More at Motor Authority. 

 The Aston Martin Formula 1 team has named Felipe Drugovich to substitute if necessary at Bahrain for driver Lance Stroll, who injured his wrist in a biking accident. More at Motorsport Week.
