+   According to Crain’s Detroit Business, Ford will announce the construction of a $3.5 billion battery plant in Marshall, Michigan in a partnership with Chinese battery giant CATL. More at The Drive.  

 Honda reported a 27 percent jump in its fourth-quarter profit to $33.5 billion as quarterly sales rose 20 percent globally despite declines in China and parts of Asia. More at The Detroit News.

 Ford, which held a 11.4 percent stake in startup electric vehicle maker Rivian Automotive at the end of 2021, has now reduced its holding to just 1.15 percent. More at World Auto Forum. 

+   Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali clapped back at aspring F1 team owner Michael Andretti, saying that using the term “greedy” to describe current team owners was “not smart.” More at Racer.

 BMW met its 2022 target for significantly higher pretax earnings than in the previous year, according to CFO Nicolas Peter speaking to the German magazine Focus Money. More at Reuters.
