 The United Auto Workers reports that more than 1,000 of the 3,800 hourly workers at Volkswagen’s Tennessee,plant have signed cards authorizing union representation. More at Reuters. 

 According to Cox Automotive’s Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index, prices in the USA declined 2.1 percent in October and 5.8 percent in November compared to last year. More at CBT News. 

 Honda announced that it will unveil a new global family of electric vehicles at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, based on the company’s own architecture. More at The Drive. 

 The Mercedes Formula 1 team has “a Mount Everest to climb to catch up with Red Bull,” the winner of all but one of the 22 races in 2023, says team principal Toto Wolff. More at Racer.  

+   Stellantis is returning the all-electric Fiat 500e to the U.S. market early next year with a new model offering an estimated 149 miles of range and a base price of $34,095. More at CNBC. 

+   A group of around 30 school children lifted an automobile off a mother and her child in the parking lot of a Layton City, Utah school, probably saving their lives, said authorities. More at Autoblog. 

+   General Motors has named David Massaron, former budget director for the state of Michigan, as its chief economic development and real estate officer, effective January 2. More at The Detroit News.

 Hyundai has revealed its pricing for the 2024 Sonata, with the previous base model SE discontinued and the SEL listed at $28,61,or $30,015 for the SEL with all-wheel drive. More at Car and Driver. 

+   Ford reports that it appears unlikely that the Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles currently in dealer showrooms will qualify for federal tax credits beginning in January. More at World Auto Forum. 

 Kaulig Racing announced that AJ Allmendinger will return to full-time competition in the NASCAR Xfinity Series to pilot the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro for the 2024 season. More at Jayski.
